SoutheastHEALTH To Open Convenient Care Clinic In Jackson

SoutheastHEALTH announced plans on Friday that it will open a new convenient care clinic on East Main Street in Jackson.

The clinic will provide services 12 hours per day, seven days a week. It should open by April 2013.

SoutheastHEALTH Executive Vice President Jim Limbaugh said there will be a full contingent of healthcare providers at the clinic.

“We will have a combination of advanced practice nurses as well as physicians and of course the support staff to meet the needs of patients there, as well as have lab techs and X-ray imaging techs,” Limbaugh said.

Services will include adult and pediatric care, sports and school physicals, pre-employment physicians, sports injuries, and work related injuries.

The clinic will have imaging and lab services on-site.

Limbaugh said convenient care clinic should be able to help families who cannot see their physician during regular working hours.

“This allows them to go see a physician for either themselves or their children or family during off hours,” Limbaugh said. “We plan to be open 12 hours a day. At least at this point, we’re thinking 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and that would be seven days a week. So literally, it is convenient.”

The new clinic will create an additional six to seven full time jobs.

SoutheastHEALTH will be a tenant in the new facility. Limbaugh estimated build out and new equipment will cost about $650 thousand.
