Southeast Names New Vice President for Finance and Administration

Southeast Missouri State University

A new vice president for finance and administration is coming to Southeast Missouri State University.

Brad Sheriff served the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith as their vice chancellor for finance and administration. Starting on Aug. 1, Sheriff will be working alongside Kathy Mangels, who is the current vice president for finance and administration until she retires in the fall.

In his new role, Sheriff will be serving on the Executive Staff as the vice president for finance and administration.

In a news release, Southeast President Vargas said he looks forward to Sheriff joining the university as they begin the FY21 budget year.

“When Dr. Sheriff was on campus this spring, he clearly demonstrated a breadth of financial experience and knowledge that we believe will serve us very well, particularly as we navigate this very challenging budget climate,” Vargas said.

The news release also said that in his duties, he’ll serve as treasurer of the Board of Regents and of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. Other responsibilities include the Budget Office, Controller’s Office, Facilities Management, Information Technology, Human Resources, Public Safety and Transit, Research and Sponsored Programs, Student Financial Services, the Show Me Center and Legal Services.
