A power outage in the central part of campus at Southeast Missouri State University gave students and faculty a late start.
University spokeswoman Ann Hayes said the power outage was noticed at approximately 1:15 am Wednesday.
“Power was lost to several buildings on campus including Art, Serena, Carnahan, Crisp, Cheney, GS1 and Parker,” Hayes said.
The outage was caused by a transformer failure. Facilities management worked with electrical contractors to install a temporary transformer.
Power was restored at 12:20 pm on Wednesday to all buildings except for Brandt.
