Young Missourians Encouraged to Seek Summer Jobs in State Parks Youth Corps

ThinkOutside.mo.gov

It’s time for many young people to start thinking about summer jobs again, and the state of Missouri needs young workers for its State Parks Youth Corps.

The State Parks Youth Corps puts young Missourians to work doing tasks like rebuilding a wood picket fence to mulching a trail, or even maintaining a park facebook page. Governor Jay Nixon is once again calling on people between the ages of 17 and 23 to apply for the program on the state of Missouri website: www.MO.gov.

The program runs from May 1-October 31.  It’s a  partnership between the Division of Workforce Development at Missouri State Parks.

According to a release from the governor’s office, last year the young corps workers clocked nearly 120,000 hours at 69 parks and historic sites.
