SEMO Space Week: "History of Observation at SEMO" Lecture
"History of Observation at SEMO"
Peggy Hill, Joseph Murphy, and Pam Mills
Johnson Hall 200, 6-7 p.m.
Space Week will invite the community to look up, discover, and experience the wonder of space through engaging talks, stargazing sessions, and interactive activities.
The new Vollink Family Observatory at Southeast Missouri State University provides both the University and the surrounding community with a powerful, state-of-the-art astronomical telescope for exploring the night sky, along with facilities that support outreach, education, and research. But this is not the first observatory in SEMO’s history.
Join us for an evening that turns back the clock to explore the origins of astronomical observing at SEMO and see just how far we’ve come!
