See Me Series - "Teacher of Patience"

SEMO Mass Media Professor Jasmine Evans asks panelists questions at the See Me Series event. The "See Me Series" talked about the Ken Burns documentary "The Central Park Five".

See Me Series - "Teacher of Patience"

Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Mass Media will host its 3rd annual See Me Series event on September 17.

The event will focus on Carmen Vincent’s 2022 documentary, “Teacher of Patience,” which chronicles the parents of a daughter with Down syndrome and their work with first responders to raise awareness of the disability. The film won the Audience Choice Award at SEMO’s Fault Line Film Festival in March. This is the third installment of the See Me Series, which was created to emphasize identity and representation on campus, in the community, and as part of American culture.

The film screening and panel discussion is free and open to the public and will be held on Sunday, September 17, at 6 p.m. in Rose Theatre.
