Kids Day at the Museum: Occupy Bloomfield 1861-1865

Kids Day at the Museum: Occupy Bloomfield 1861-1865

Join us for Kids Day at the Museum: Occupy Bloomfield 1861-1865 on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10 am to 4 pm at The Stars and Stripes National Museum and Library. This event is open to the public and admission is FREE.

Step back in time as Civil War-era reenactors and living history presenters bring the town of Bloomfield to life. During the years of 1861-1865, Bloomfield and the surrounding area of Southeast Missouri were pivotal sites of conflict, changing hands over 20 times between Union and Confederate forces.

Experience a day rich in local Civil War history. Engage with reenactors portraying both soldiers and civilians, explore their camps, and participate in activities from the 1860s. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to witness history come alive and gain a deeper understanding of Bloomfield's significant past.

Our monthly Kids Day at the Museum program is sponsored by The Boys and Girls Club of the Heartland, the Dexter Kiwanis Club, the Sikeston Kiwanis Club, and Ameren.
