Sign-ups for the Cape Girardeau Public Library’s 2025 Summer Reading Program begin on May 27.

This year’s theme, “Color Our World,” will celebrate the arts and provide enriching experiences filled with creativity, discovery, and fun. Summer reading helps kids avoid the “summer slide” in academic skills and can be a restorative habit for adults, as well.

The Cape Public Library Summer Reading Program is open to infants to adults. Prizes and giveaways will be available for all age groups.

This summer's grand prizes:

• Kitchen playset, tool bench playset, Discovery Playhouse memberships (ages 0-5)
• Bicycles, Monopoly, illustrated Harry Potter boxed set (ages 6-11)
• Beats, phone printer, LEGO set, Splendor board game, coloring bundle (ages 12-18)
• Bookish gift baskets & gift cards (ages 18+)
