Book Signing: 'The Girardeaus'

A book signing for a new book entitled The Girardeaus: Eighteenth-Century French Colonials in Upper Louisiana will take place on June 22.

Author Charlotte Young Slinkard will talk about her extensive research for the book, which was published by the Southeast Missouri State University Press. It tells the long-overdue story of the Girardeau family, beginning in 1684 in France and ending a century later in the Mississippi River Valley.

The book signing will take place at the Cape Girardeau Heritage Museum (538 Independence) on Saturday, June 22, from 12 to 4 p.m. Author remarks will begin at 2:00 p.m.
