The City of Cape Girardeau will host its next series of weekly Basic Community Emergency Response Team—or CERT—classes September 12 through October 17.

Classes will cover disaster preparedness, medical operations, and psychology, fire extinguisher training, light search and rescue, CERT organization, and terrorism. Participants must be age 18 or older. There is no charge for completing the course, and registration is required. Dress is casual. No open toe shoes, please.

The Basic CERT Classes will be held Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon from September 12 through October 17 at the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center.
