I hope you’re ready to ring in the holidays this week. Two special guests will be available for meet and greets and photos during Cape Girardeau’s Downtown Open House. Can you guess who they are? One is a season favorite who is known for rewarding well-behaved children. The other is green from head to toe and charged with stealing Christmas! Meet Santa, chat with the Grinch, catch a horse-drawn carriage ride in downtown Cape Girardeau on Friday, December 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Did you know that when the Nutcracker first premiered in December of 1892, critics were less than impressed and many called the production a failure? Today, the music makes impressions on an international scale each holiday season.
See the show live at the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall. The Moscow Ballet will return to perform the “Great Russian Nutcracker,” a compelling and unforgettable story featuring a life-sized Kissy Doll, 10-foot tall dancing puppets, exotic flying birds and more. Head to the River Campus on Monday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. to catch a show.
