Former Pro Athlete Eddie Moss Donates Sports Memorabilia To Poplar Bluff High School

Poplar Bluff High School

A new wall of fame display at Poplar Bluff High School now boasts a slew of items from former NFL player - and former student - Eddie Moss.

During a visit on Feb. 22, the 1967 graduate donated a collection of memorabilia from his athletic career to the high school. It included a portrait of Moss, a newspaper article, a signed jersey, a sports program, a plaque, and an official resolution.

According to a press release from the Poplar Bluff school system, Moss said he thought the donation would be "something good for the kids."

The visit was spearheaded by the high school’s security officer, Wesley Lewis.

After graduating from Poplar Bluff, Moss attended Southeast Missouri State University, where he played as a top rusher. In 1972, Moss was selected in the 13th round of the NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills, and played for the St. Louis Football Cardinals from 1973-1976. He then played for the Washington Redskins from 1977-1978. In 2016, Moss was named a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Moss is now retired, and lives in St. Louis.
