The fields and courts throughout Cape Girardeau are hopping this month with everything from the crack of the bat to the swish of a ball through a net, not to mention the roar of the crowd.
If you’re suffering from basketball withdrawal now that the NBA finals are over, make plans to stop by the Cape Girardeau Sportsplex on July 28 and 29th for the Midwest Youth Basketball Tournament. It’s the perfect opportunity to see some talented basketball players from the age of 8 to 18 play on the hardwood courts.
Did you know that slow pitch softball gets its name from the fact that pitchers must put a 6 foot arc on their pitches, slowing the speed of incoming balls? For all of you fans not getting enough of the game, the USA men’s D & E State Tournament will be coming in August to the Shawnee Sports Complex. It’s fast-paced, all-American sports action, come out and enjoy the game.
If you’re not content with just watching the games, get active on the tennis, basketball and volleyball courts at our local parks and of course, Cape’s Baseball diamonds are perfect for a pickup game. Grab some friends and join us.
