Graduating Seniors Showcase Their Work at Art Exhibition

Southeast Missouri State University

There’s nothing quite like when your life’s pursuit comes together, and that’s just what’s happening for the students of the Department of Art.

The end of the semester marks the Graduating Seniors Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibitions at the River Campus. The first two exhibitions were underway in November. But you still have time to see Parts three and four. Each part runs for one week and both will have a closing reception. Exhibitions coordinator Justin Miller explains the process.

The BFA shows are always an exciting time because it marks the culmination of the students’ time invested and skills learned while studying the Department of Art. Each student proposes their own project to exhibit, so the variety of artwork displayed is always fun to see. In addition to creating their artwork, these students have also learned the skills needed to put on a show, including installation practices, advertising and reception responsibilities.

We invite you to see the work and congratulate the students. Remember all exhibitions at the Art Gallery and Museum are free.

Tickets are still available for the Ruth Page Civic Ballet’s Nutcracker. This holiday classic showcases dancing and costumes in the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets and you can see it this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Bedell Performance Hall.

As always for more information, visit RiverCampus.org. I hope to see you soon at the Box Office!
