Southeast Symphony Orchestra, Choral Union and University Choir to Present Vivaldi's "Gloria"

Southeast Missouri State University

Once the parade finishes and the turkey is gone, it’s time to fully turn our attention to holiday season, and what better way to start than with an evening of music to set the mood.

The Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra, Choral Union and University Choir is sure to get you in the spirit November 28 with a performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria. This joyful hymn of praise is a veritable holiday tradition and one that Symphony Conductor Sara Edgerton and Choir Director Barb Lamont say will be a can’t-miss performance.

"So for our November 28 concert, the Vivaldi Gloria, I'm really, really, really excited about being able to do Vivaldi's Winter from The Seasons. We thought we'd start the whole concert with Vivaldi and end it with Vivaldi. And the Vivaldi Four Seasons are just incredible, they're just like showpieces from the Baroque era." - Symphony Conductor Sara Edgerton
"Yes and I'm really excited to be able to conduct the orchestra and the choir in the Vivaldi Gloria. We get to also focus in on our students a little bit more as well. And we have student soloists, which is really exciting. We've got three lovely ladies who are going to be singing some solos for us and I just am really thankful for this awesome opportunity to collaborate with the orchestra that we get at our River Campus here at Southeast." - Choir Director Barb Lamont

You can make it an evening by joining us for dinner before the show with Art Cuisine. A delectable menu will be served at the St. Vincent’s Commons before the show. For information on dinner and tickets to the performance, visit RiverCampus.org.

And, in the coming weeks, I’ll tell you even more about the holiday offerings the River Campus has in store. I hope to see you soon at the Box Office!
