Safe House For Women To Host Fifth Annual Vintage Now Fashion Show

Safe House for Women

The Safe House for Women is hosting the Vintage Now Fashion Show, a fundraiser that will be held this Friday at the Osage Center at 7:30p.m. This is the fifth year the Safe House will host the show.

“Last year, we had our most successful show yet. We had over 1,000 people attend, and we raised over $40,000 for the Safe House for Women, so we are hoping this year to increase both the number of attendees and the money raised to support the Safe House,” Director of Development for the Safe House for Women, Jessica Hill said.

Pastimes Antiques owner Deb Maevers is the fashion show’s director. She chose a “Fabulous 50’s” theme with a modern twist. Maevers and her styling team supply the fashions for the show by visiting local antique stores and vintage clothing stores. They then work with local boutiques such as Ophelia, Philanthropy and Stash to provide the modern flare for each of the models.

The Safe House enjoys opening up the modeling positions to anyone interested by holding a casting call each year.

“One of the things we really like to do is have a variety of models of all sizes, ages, you name it,” Hill said. “That makes it fun for everyone, and I know the models look forward to it and have a great time as well.”

Tickets are available at vintagenowfashionshow.com or can be purchased at Pastimes Antiques or at the Women’s Safe House Thrift shop. General admission is $25 and Runway is $50. Doors open at 6p.m.
