How can a wife sending carnations to her husband at his work cause so much trouble? It can and does in the comedy “Nuts, Bolts and Carnations” – the upcoming production by Cape Girardeau’s River City Players. The play is about men, women, marriage, families, work, home life and carnations.
Debbie Barnhouse is directing the play and says the play is written by Don Rausch. She said, "He is one that likes to do shows that have all kinds of different storylines in it that would relate to just about anybody that would come and see this show."
Barnhouse said that in the show the subjects of death, marriage, relating to grown children, the differences between men and women and more are explored.
There are a few new actors taking the stage with the River City Players for this production. Barnhouse noted that the group is always looking for new members to join the group. From new actors, to sound technicians, to other "behind the scenes" jobs, there is always a need for more help with a production.
