Georgetown basketball star Otto Porter, Jr. will forego his final two years of NCAA eligibility and enter the NBA draft. Porter announced his intentions Monday afternoon.

The Morley, Missouri native averaged 16.2 points for the Hoyas this past season and won the Big East Conference Player of the Year Award.

At a Georgetown press conference, Porter said he wants to return and finish his degree.

“The toughest part was knowing that you’re going to leave a great place like this. I love this place. I mean, it was tough. I had to think about it each and every night whether to stay or whether to go,” Porter said.

As a high schooler, Porter led the Scott County Central boys basketball team to three Missouri state championships.
