New Student Representative Appointed To Southeast Board Of Regents

Southeast Missouri State University

A new student representative has been appointed to the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents.

According to a press release from Southeast, Lauren Kohn of Fenton will serve on the board until 2022. The student representative is a non-voting member.

Kohn is majoring in finance and minoring in Spanish. She is involved with the Jane Stephens Honors Program and the Finance and Economics Club.

“We are extremely pleased that Lauren will be joining the Board of Regents as the student representative,” said university president Dr. Carlos Vargas.

Kohn’s predecessor in the role was Luke LeGrand of Cape Girardeau whose term expired.

“[Kohn] has been an active participant in our student leadership programs and has engaged in our Residence Life learning communities,” Vargas said. “These valuable experiences will serve her well as a member of the Board, and we look forward to her representing the voices of our students.”

During her time at Southeast, Kohn has been a resident of the Business Learning Community and Entrepreneurship Learning Community.

Governor Mike Parson made the appointment on Monday, June 8.
