Farmington Presbyterian Manor will celebrate local senior artists this month through their annual Art is Ageless® program and exhibit.
For the safety of artists, residents, and staff, this year’s exhibit will be made available virtually through Facebook from Wednesday, Apr. 22 through Friday, Apr. 24. Winners in each category will also be announced through a video on Facebook on Friday, Apr. 24.
In its 40th year, Art is Ageless® is a trademarked program of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America (PMMA), and offers senior artists the opportunity to share and display their artwork, reaffirming the agelessness of human creativity. The first Art is Ageless® calendar was published in 1981, featuring art from Presbyterian Manor community residents. Since then, the program has expanded to include a juried art competition open to all seniors age 65 and older, ranging from amateur to professional levels.
Winning pieces at the community level move on to a masterpiece-level judging to determine which pieces will be featured in the annual calendar and note cards.
If you are interested in participating in this community exhibit, you can submit pictures of your original artwork to aallen@pmma.org, or send it by text to (636) 387-3935. An entry form can be found at artisageless.org/the-competition/entry-form/, and the submission deadline is Monday, Apr. 20.
