This time of year, it’s all about getting up and moving, sports and fitness. It’s also about the crack of the bat and roar of the crowd – baseball and softball. Southeast baseball season is in full swing, and the Redhawks are set to face off Arkansas State at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, in Capaha Park. Peanuts, Cracker Jacks and America’s favorite pastime offer the perfect way to spend a spring evening.
The Redhawks softball team has two doubleheaders coming up: Friday, March 29, against Morehead State and Sunday, March 31, against Eastern Kentucky – both at the Southeast Softball Complex.
For slightly different sports action, Cape Championship Wrestling fits the bill. This organization hosts matches throughout Cape Girardeau and surrounding communities. Offering men’s, women’s and tag team competitions by fighters like Brandon Barbwire, “Farmer” Billy Hills, “Dirdy” Jake Dirden and Lil Bit, these athletes give fans the opportunity to interact with wrestlers – making the experience more personal than large, professional matches. See where they’re scheduled to fight next at CapeWrestling.com.
Also coming up this week is the Cape Girardeau Roller Derby on Saturday, March 30, at the A.C. Brase Arena. The CGRD will be facing the Clarksville Roller Derby. For more details visit capegirardeaurollerderby.com. The skaters promote sportsmanship, athleticism and service to the Southeast Missouri Area.
