It’s basketball and musicals with both “Evita” and the I-55 Spring Slam Tournament coming to town this weekend. But first, it’s March Madness time. The First Four take the court on March 19 and 20.
If you can’t make it to Dayton, Hartford or Salt Lake City to watch LIVE, Cape has some great places to catch all the games. Let’s face it: an NCAA game isn’t all that much fun unless you’re surrounded by other fans, cheering your team’s every score while sipping cold beverages. Cape’s sports bars offer it all. Find a place to hang out and view the games by perusing our list of restaurants at VisitCape.com/eat.
If you’d rather see live basketball action, the I-55 Spring Slam Tournament is coming to the SportsPlex on March 23 and 24. The tournament gives teams a chance to hone their skills and impress audience members cheering from the sidelines.
For slightly more subdued entertainment, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Evita” takes the Bedell Hall stage on Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. This Tony-winning musical has played all over the world since its opening in the late seventies. Even if you don’t recognize the title, you may be familiar with the film version starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas or the song “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.”
The plot follows the life and death of beloved Argentinian First Lady Eva Peron – a fascinating historical figure whose story has captured the attention of decades of admirers. This play is sure to capture you, too.
