McCaskill On Sequester

US Senate

Democratic Senator from Missouri, Claire McCaskill, says drastic spending cuts that are part of the so-called sequester are likely to go into place this Friday.

On Fox News Sunday McCaskill said the Senate will take action to avoid the spending cuts, she then pointed the finger at the House Republicans for not doing the same.

“Here’s what’s really going on.  In Washington, as usual, you have a large Kabuki going on about who can get blamed. There’s no question that these cuts are going to be painful and they are thoughtless,” McCaskill said.

Republican Senator from Oklahoma, Tom Coburn, joined McCaskill as a guest on the Sunday morning talk show.

Coburn said President Barack Obama has failed to provide effective leadership on the issue.
