My Journey with Reproduction Quilts
My Journey with Reproduction Quilts
“My Journey with Reproduction Quilts,” a presentation by Laverne Farrar, will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m., on Monday, June 9, 2025, during River Heritage Quilters’ Guild (RHQG) monthly meeting at La Croix Church in Cape Girardeau, MO.
During this presentation, Farrar explains how she was introduced to the reproduction genre of pre- and post-Civil War Era quilts and why she feels such a connection to them.
“Stories go along with every quilt,” Farrar states. She will be sharing these while her reproduction quilts are being shown one by one. Many quilt blocks have names based on their design, which she will point out. Some quilts can be categorized by their functionality.
Farrar’s quilts are made with reproduction fabrics. Her quilts are not antiques. She will also have a handout listing the patterns and books she used to make them.
La Croix Church is located at 3102 Lexington Ave., in Cape Girardeau, MO. RHQG membership information will be available at the meeting.
RHQG requests a minimal donation for non-members to attend the presentation portion of this meeting.
