Make Fort D Historic Site a destination during the weekend of the solar eclipse. In conjunction with the annual American Battlefield Trust Park Day, volunteers will be on the grounds for spring cleaning on Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Monday, April 8, from noon to 4, watch the eclipse on the grounds. Visitors should bring their own chairs and protective eye equipment for viewing the eclipse. The cannon will be fired at the height of the eclipse. The stone building with its interpretive displays will be open, and admission is free.
