Longtime bass guitarist Kerry Turman for the R&B group the Temptations died over the weekend in his hotel room after a performance in Cape Girardeau. The group alongside the Beach Boys performed at the Show-Me-Center for their “Surf ‘n Soul” tour. Cape Girardeau County coroner John Clifton said he was called to Candlewood Suites early Sunday morning.

“The gentleman was dead, and was on the floor," said Clifton. "He’d been placed there by first responders. Apparently everything was natural, as far as the death. It was heart failure.”

The 59 year old joined the Temptations in 1984. The group still plans to continue the rest of their tour as scheduled.
