It was recently announced that new music from The Mountain Goats is on the way. The album is titled Goths, which is an unsurprising theme from the mind of John Darnielle, considering his music is a case study in gallows humor, he’s a bit of a horror novelist, and is a passionate heavy metal nerd.
Karen Elson, on her 2010 her debut album brought murder ballads and the sounds of dark Americana. On her new record, Double Roses, the English singer summons a British folk vibe with songs that Elson describes as being more personal.
