The Southeast Missouri State Department of Athletics and Andy's Frozen Custard gave dessert-lovers a more palatable decision to make this election season, as they partnered on a flavor election for the new "Rowdy Redhawk" concrete coming to the menu at Andy's in Cape Girardeau.
During the month of October, customers could vote by placing an order to select the flavor of the new "Rowdy Redhawk” concrete. The two candidates running in the "Rowdy Redhawk" election were:
· Andy's Vanilla Frozen Custard blended with Oreo and strawberries
· Andy's Chocolate Frozen Custard blended with Oreo and raspberries
Each order during the month of October counted as one vote for that flavor, and the flavor that finished the month with the most purchases will be chosen as the new Rowdy Redhawk treat. Although polls are officially closed, the winner will be announced at the Homecoming Football game tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 5.
The new “Rowdy Redhawk” concrete will become a permanent fixture on the Andy’s Frozen Custard menu in Cape Girardeau.
The Homecoming Football game kicks off tomorrow at 1 p.m. inside Houck Stadium, and the Redhawks will host nationally-ranked Jacksonville State. Before the game, the Homecoming parade will proceed down Broadway starting at 9:30 a.m. You also don’t want to miss the Redhawk Walk at 11 a.m., as the marching band and team walk down Bellevue Street in front of the stadium on their way into Houck.
