Stroll downtown art galleries on the First Friday of every month from 5 - 9 p.m. at First Friday with the Arts!  Galleries host artist receptions and openings  and often feature live music, beverages and appetizers. Many local downtown shops and restaurants join in the fun as well, staying open into the night and featuring special guests and other events.

Pippin is a Tony® award-winning musical that follows the story of an adventure seeking prince and the realities of being a royal on Friday, March 3rd at the River Campus.

Celebrate 10 years of excellence in the arts at the River Campus’ 10th Anniversary.  This special choral and orchestral concert pays tribute to the River Campus and presents the world premiere of a work by Dr. Goodwin, which describes the history of the River Campus, originally the home for St. Vincent’s Seminary to its current role as a leading cultural center.

Every now and then, we’re graced with a taste of spring early in the season.  Seize the opportunity and make the most of these little peeks at springtime!  Grab a cup of coffee and meander around historic downtown Cape Girardeau.  Pop in and out of shops that look interesting, and kick back on the riverfront and watch a barge head up or downriver.

Hungry?  Grab lunch on one of the outdoor patios scattered throughout town.  Soak up the sun, if it’s making an appearance, at a local winery on an outdoor deck overlooking the grapevines.  Air up those tires or dust off your hiking shoes and set out on a trail; winter's bare trees have their own appeal, and you might see wildlife you aren't used to seeing the rest of the year!
