COVID-19 Testing in Southeast Missouri

Gamma Healthcare Inc., a company that provided laboratory and radiology services for hundreds of Missouri nursing homes, has shut down its operations after it was unable to resolve differences with federal regulators.

The 39-year-old, Poplar Bluff, Missouri-based company informed employees on Tuesday that it would cease all laboratory operations effective just after midnight.

Thursday's total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Cape County rose by 73 from Wednesday to 3,239, according to the Cape Girardeau County Health Department.

Probable cases rose by one from Wednesday to 147, and active cases rose by 25 from Wednesday to 464. The total number of recoveries rose by 49 to 2,869. The total number of cases overall rose by 74 from Wednesday to 3,386.
