Andrew Freeland, a Bachelor of Fine Arts-Musical Theatre major at Southeast Missouri State University, spent the summer of 2019 performing in Southeast's production of "Newsies" as the lead character, Jack Kelly. He also made his off-Broadway debut in the production, "American Hero", in New York, which was written at the Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance, located at the River Campus.

Emma Ahern, an anthropology major at Southeast Missouri State University, speaks about her Summer 2018 internship at the Primate House at the St. Louis Zoo, helping zoo keepers with enrichment, habitat maintenance, and observing a live surgery. Emma is pursuing a PhD program focused on researching a lemur species in Madagascar.
