One of the challenges we face at KRCU (and other public radio stations face as well) is time. There are a lot of great radio programs available but a limited number of hours in the day. We are always listening to new programs and reviewing some that have been around a while to make sure we are keeping up with programming trends.
One of the programs we're listening to is Wits from American Public Media. Wits is a live public radio show that brings world-class comedians, actors, and musicians to the stage of the Fitzgerald Theater (also the home of A Prairie Home Companion), where host John Moe gives them and the audience the time of their lives.
Praised as "one of the rare public radio comedy shows that's actually funny," and "a wildly successful radio show Wits, both a throwback to the radio's golden age and also wholly modern," mixes improvisation, sketch comedy, conversation, music, and genuine beauty in a program that's been called a model for social media and audience engagement.

TED Radio Hour is a journey through fascinating ideas, astonishing inventions and new ways to think and create. Each episode includes riveting excerpts from the renowned TED stage where some of the world's deepest thinkers and innovators are invited to give the 18-minute "talk of their lives."
The TED Radio Hour team takes the most compelling talks and organizes them around a common theme. But we don't stop with the TEDTalks. Host Guy Raz interviews the guests, delving deeper, dissecting the speaker's ideas and posing probing questions you’d like to hear answered.
You can hear TED Radio Hour Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. on KRCU.
