The Cape County Public Health Department has confirmed the third positive case of COVID-19, reported by a commercial laboratory in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. Two patients who tested POSITIVE for COVID-19, received care in a COVID Care Unit on March 22nd, and were discharged to quarantine at home on March 23rd. One patient lives in Bollinger County and the second lives in Cape County. The third case of COVID-19, was a patient who lives in Cape Girardeau County and is currently in an isolation unit. The information came from a Cape County Health Department release on Wednesday. Additional cases are expected to be confirmed locally due to increased testing.
The health center says the number of cases can be “reduced significantly” by social distancing, washing hands, and staying home when feeling sick.
