Meet KRCU's New Development Director

KRCU welcomed Alex Jackson to the station on October 1, 2012 to serve as the station’s chief development officer. Alex was hired after a national search that was conducted over the summer.

Alex is originally from Cairo, IL, and graduated from Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau. He attended the University of Mississippi, where he majored in political science and Spanish, and worked as a fundraiser for the University of Mississippi Foundation.

After graduating from the University of Mississippi, he moved to Cape Girardeau to join the Southeast Missouri University Foundation as the Coordinator of the Annual Fund in year.  In addition to managing the Southeast Student Telefund and the Annual Fund Campaign, he took on many exciting projects with the Alumni Association including the Heritage Brick Plaza and the Student Alumni Association.

As KRCU’s Development Director, Alex is responsible for securing corporate underwriting support, all membership activities, and major donor initiatives. He also represents the radio station to the business community, making contacts on a regular basis with owners, managers, advertising and marketing representatives, public relations officers, and others who make decisions regarding public radio sponsorships.

Dan is a 1994 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He majored in radio and minored in political science. He spent three of his four years at Southeast working as a student announcer at KRCU – the beginning of his radio career.
