This week we're featuring new music from the YouTube android sensation known as Poppy. Not even NPR’s Scott Simon could get the presumed earth human from Nashville to break character. Her latest album asks Am I A Girl?, and was released on Diplo's Mad Decent label. Standout tracks on it include a collaboration with fellow pop auter Grimes and this song, titled 'X,' which juxtaposes saccharin pop sounds with nu metal riffs.
We're also playing new music from the Philadelphia jazz, soul, and R&B collective known as Killiam Shakespeare. Their latest album is called A Town Called Elsewhere and this track, featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff (remember him?) is named for Crispus Attucks, the first casualty of the American Revolutionary War.
