Jackson police have arrested a female juvenile in connection with a terrorist threat to Jackson High School.
The arrest comes after the Jackson R-II School District dismissed students shortly after the start of school this morning due to an alleged threat to the high school via social media. Buses began taking all Jackson R-II School District students home at 9:00 a.m.
Lt. Alex Broch of the Jackson Police Department says they completed a search of the location after students were evacuated. No evidence of a bomb was found, and the police didn’t find anything suspicious.
The police department, and both local and federal agencies, were involved in the investigation into the social media post.
