On this edition of Going Public we talk with Dr. Carlos Vargas, president of Southeast Missouri State University, where he reflects on Governor Parson’s visit to the Barton Agriculture Research Center in Cape Girardeau on June 13.
As part of his statewide listening tour, Governor Mike Parson made a stop in Cape Girardeau yesterday to hear from Southeast Missouri leaders, including many farmers and local members of the Missouri Farm Bureau.
At the David M. Barton Agricultural Research Center, Parson spoke on both infrastructure and workforce development as two of his main areas of focus. But, he also took many questions regarding the lack of broadband internet in rural areas: an issue he empathized with.
On this episode of Going Public, we sit down with Nate Muenks, habitat management coordinator for the Missouri Department of Conservation. They're currently collaborating with MoDOT and the Missouri Prairie Foundation on an invasive species strike team along Southeast roadways.
