In response to flooding in East Cape Girardeau, the Red Cross has opened a new shelter in McLure, Illinois to help residents whose homes have been flooded.
Residents can now take temporary refuge at Spark Ministries Church, 40842 Illinois Route 3, McClure, IL. They ask that you bring clothing for a few days, some bedding, toiletries and medications, and items for your children.
The new shelter is one of eight that have been opened across the state of Missouri and adjoining Illinois counties in response to flood and tornado damage.
The Red Cross says efforts with local officials are ongoing to evaluate and determine the needs of residents with evolving conditions across the state.
