It’s Money Smart week, and the Cape Girardeau Public Library has millennials in mind. Tonight they’re kicking off their "Adulting 101" class series, focusing on the topic of financial planning. Adult services program coordinator Whitney Vandeven said this class encourages financial literacy for young adults.
“I have a financial advisor coming in to talk about the basics, so budgeting, financial planning, and getting people to start thinking about the future," Vandeven said. "So ways to save money and ways to achieve financial security."
Financial advisor Blake Gilliam will teach attendees the necessary financial skills required to “adult,” like saving up for a car. The class is free and open to the public.
Adulting 101: April 25th, 6 PM - 7:30 PM, Geraldine Hirsch Room
