All About Cape: Things to Do in Cape Girardeau When It's Cold Outside

Visit Cape

In these cold winter months, the trick is to stay active and warm!  There are many options here in Cape Girardeau.  Take in a movie at the Cape West Cinema, visit the historic Trail of Tears and view the movie of the native Americans, or visit the Crisp Museum and listen to the interactive stories and view the mural that depicts the 1870 Great steamboat race between the Robert E. Lee and the Natchez.  The impressive mural was painted by the renowned Missouri artist Gary Lucy.

Crafts are a brilliant way to stay busy and meet the makers of the crafts at the It’s Cold Outside Vendor and Craft Fair in the Osage Centre on Feb 1.  People have been making and selling handmade goods since the early days.  The market took off in the 1940’s and spread across the country from the west coast and hobbies became businesses!

Multi-talented comedian, actor, singer and writer Rodney Carrington will be visiting Cape on February 1 at the Show Me Center. He has had comedy albums debut at number one on the overall comedy charts and has been known to bring entire theaters to laughter because of his tendency to personally connect with his audience.

The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters will take the gym, bringing their new show "Pushing the Limits.”  See them at the Show Me Center on February 3.  Each show blends hilarious hijinks and incredible basketball skills for a show that entertains the entire family!
