All About Cape: New Year's Resolutions

Visit Cape

At the end of last year, most of us made resolutions for 2019. And according to U.S. News, 80% of us will fail by mid-February. But those odds are no reason to despair. Instead, think of it as a challenge to make the elite top 20%.

The number one New Year’s resolution in the United States is to become healthier. And Cape Girardeau offers the tools you need to achieve that goal.

The 2019 Health and Wellness Expo on January 12 at the Osage Centre is a great place to boost your motivation and find practical tips to accomplish your goals this year. With healthy cooking samples, group fitness demonstrations and a kids zone offering yoga, you’ll connect with people who understand your goals and the struggle it takes to achieve them. And with more than 80 vendors offering support, you’ll be on the right track.

If you’re worried about maintaining a healthy lifestyle long term, the New Year’s Resolution Warriors group offers eight weeks of fitness, nutrition education and support as friends work toward fitness goals together. Meet with a specialist during classes held every Thursday beginning January 17 at the Osage Centre to ensure you’re on track to reach your objectives.

Or maybe your New Year’s resolution has nothing to do with fitness. If you’re craving new experiences this year, Cape offers numerous hiking trails, historical sites and events where you can make memories. Or stop by a local restaurant to try new flavors – maybe a dish from another culture.
