If you’ve been around Cape for a while, no doubt you’ve noticed we like cars. The city has 233 miles of streets, 7,400 traffic signs and stoplights at 22 intersections. It’s no wonder the average person spends two weeks of their life waiting for the light to turn green.
On March 9, a fleet of classic cars will grace our streets as they head to the Show Me Center for the Smith Summer Classic Car Auction. But these aren’t your average vehicles. Smith Auctions sells everything from Model Ts to muscle cars. Even if you’re not looking to invest in a classic vehicle, viewing them up close is like going to a museum. Doors open at 8:00 in the morning, and the auction begins at 10:00 a.m.
Cars might not spark your interest. But now that we’re at the end of February, I know a magic word that’ll make your ears perk up: SPRING. We’re still a few weeks out, but it’s close enough that you better start planning your landscaping soon.
If you’re a little low on ideas for turning your yard into a showpiece, the best place to find inspiration is the Heartland Home and Garden Show. This annual three-day event is scheduled for March 15-17, at the Show Me Center. More than 100 exhibits showcase the latest landscaping trends and products. It’s like walking through a 3D Pinterest page. Plus, non-landscaping vendors will be there too, bringing everything from décor to fresh produce and even wine. The best part: They’re offering special prices, along with plenty of giveaways.
