Did you know Missouri vines saved the French wine industry in the eighteen seventies? Tiny bugs were ravaging France’s vineyards, destroying nearly forty percent of the country’s grapevines. A few helpful Missourians sent about four hundred thousand vine cuttings to France because our vines were resistant to the bugs. France recovered from the infestation, and it was all thanks to Missouri vines.
