Southeast Missouri State University is looking for experienced and confident singers to join their Choral Union. The mixed choir, made up of both Southeast students and community members, serves as a symphonic chorus performing major choral works each semester with the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra. The choir will be performing Brahms' 'Requiem' with the orchestra at the end of April. Recent masterworks include Carl Orff’s 'Carmina Burana,' Poulenc’s 'Gloria,' and Handel’s 'Messiah.' Membership is open to all ages post-high school, and all community singers must purchase their own scores. There is no required audition to sing in the Choral Union. The choir is conducted by Dr. Barbara Lamont, Director of Choral Activities at Southeast. Choral Union rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in room 120 of the Dobbins River Campus Center.
