Have a hard time telling a junco from a nuthatch? The Missouri Department of Conservation will cover birding basics, including how to recognize birds by their calls, in Winter Birding 101. The first part of the program will take place indoors where participants can learn how to identify some of Missouri’s common winter birds. Then, the group will grab their binoculars and hit the trail for a 1-mile hike on moderate terrain. Dress for the weather and bring shoes suitable for uneven terrain.
