See the reflections of early fall colors on the water of Lake Girardeau during Colors by Canoe, hosted by the Cape Girardeau Nature Center. Black gum, virginia creeper, and sumac trees will all show intensely as the hickories and maples begin to change. This program is open to all skill levels, and paddling instruction, safety gear, and equipment will be provided. Colors by Canoe will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Lake Girardeau Conservation Area in Burfordville. Participants can meet at the Nature Center at 11 AM for transportation to the lake. A “Drive Yourself” option is available for those who wish to use their own canoes/kayaks/equipment. In order to participate, paddlers must have a suitable PFD. Please arrive at the main boat launch on the west side of the lake off CR 383 by 11:30AM. If you wish to cancel your registration, you must do so before Saturday, October 26, 2019. All registrants for this event must be a minimum age of 12 years old by 10/26/2019.
