The Missouri Governor’s Mansion, the home to Missouri Governors since 1871, has begun decking its halls for the Christmas season.

Eight trees arrived at the Mansion on Monday, November 27, including a 30-foot Norway Spruce that is showcased outside. Five 7-foot white pines are scattered throughout the first floor, with a 10-foot pine on the back porch, and an 18-foot Norway Spruce near the staircase. Indoor trees were acquired from Pea Ridge Forest near Hermann, Missouri, and the 30-foot outdoor spruce was donated by a couple near Canton, Missouri.

Tours are open to the public and will begin after the annual lighting of the Norway Spruce on Friday, Dec. 1 at 6:15 p.m. Tours will also be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Music will be provided by Jefferson City High School Choir, Helias High School Choir, School of the Osage, University of Missouri S&T, and Missouri Valley College on Dec. 1. The Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson City will perform during tours on Saturday, Dec. 2.
