There’s actual music in the air as Tunes at Twilight returns for its fall series on August tenth. We’re gathering in Ivers Square near the courthouse at six thirty each Friday night for the next six weeks to mingle and sway along to a variety of sounds and styles.
We’re kicking off with the warm, raspy country vocals of Baylor Wilson on August 10, followed by contemporary folk and acoustic blues musician Kraig Kenning on August 17. North Carolina native Karla Davis brings country music on August 24, and the Jenny Johnson Band rounds out the August lineup on the 31st with a fiddle, accordion, upright bass and powerful vocals.
I invite you to join this decades-long Cape Girardeau tradition of soaking in the music while lounging in a lawn chair or on a blanket. It’s small-town America at its finest.
I also want to let you in on some exciting local news. The Shipyard Music Festival is coming to Ivers Square on September 22! Seven entertainers will be there for an exciting day of music and fun you don’t want to miss. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on our website and social media.
