If you’re visiting for Thanksgiving, welcome back.
We’re kicking things off at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, November 22 with the Gobble Wobble at the Osage Centre. This 5K run and two-mile walk is the perfect way to burn calories so you don’t feel guilty about pigging out later.
If your favorite part of Thanksgiving weekend is Black Friday, sales are going on all over town – some of them beginning Thursday night.
But shopping doesn’t end on Friday. The next day is Small Business Saturday. Our Cape Girardeau stores have everything from antiques to current fashion to pet products and more. You’ll check off your Christmas list with unique, heartfelt gifts for everyone and help the local community in the process. Small businesses typically donate 2.5 times more to nonprofits than larger businesses.
And this weekend, we’re bringing Christmas cheer with candlelight tours of the Glenn House. As beautiful as this grand Victorian home is during the summer, it’s even more breathtaking with holly, Christmas trees and bows. Even if you saw it last year, the décor is completely different.
Then November 25 brings one of Cape’s most beloved recent traditions – the Parade of Lights. We don’t have balloon floats, but we’ve got thousands of twinkling lights and a host of Christmas characters. Rumor has it Santa may even make an appearance.
